About Yonsei
Being the oldest private university in Korea, Yonsei University was first established in 1885 by Christian missionaries. Our mission is to educate leaders who will contribute to humanity in the spirit of “truth and freedom.”

About the Department
Established in 1958, the Department of Public Policy and Management at Yonsei University pioneered the Public Administration program in South Korea and has since become a center for academic research and education in the field. The Department offers both undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MA and Ph.D.) programs in Public Administration and ranks as one of the top programs in the nation with 15 standing faculty members whose cutting-edge research is internationally recognized. Our alumni, a total of approximately 4,000 bachelors, 420 masters, and 110 Ph.Ds, play leading roles in government, finance, public and private corporations, academia, media, and NGOs. The Department takes pride in its tradition of more than fifty years for its contribution to Korean society and now aims for global excellence in research and eduction.
